The British Consulate at Takow
The Kaohsiung Historical Relics Heritage Museum (former British Consulate)
The Kaohsiung Historical Relics Heritage Museum is one of the unique attractions in the Sizihwan area. It used to be the British Consulate at Takao. The building, which features colonial style construction and balcony, was built alongside the hills. During the Japanese colonial era, it was used by Japan as a marinology data collecting center, and is the oldest Western-style modern structure still in existence in Taiwan. Having been announced as a level-two national heritage building, it exhibits the pioneering history of the Takao area and modern historical documents, as well as other important cultural relics such as a miniature model of the ancient Fengshan City and pictures of the past.
